Wellborn Road Grade Separation project establishes a transportation link for cars, buses, pedestrians and cyclists between the East and West Campuses of TAMU at College Station. Previously the Union Pacific railroad track and Wellborn Road divided the Texas A&M University campus. To improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists and provide an inviting and safe environment, RdlR created expressly designated passageways beneath Wellborn Road and the railroad tracks. The new pathways are located to the East and West edges of Old Main Road.
These improvements begin just North of Jones St/W. Lamar St and terminate at the Olsen Blvd Plaza. The route integrates function and utility with landscaping and verdant tree-lined plazas which enriches the collegiate environment while improving access and safety.
