Fort Bend County's New $21 Million Transit Complex Nears Completion

Construction is nearing completion on Fort Bend County’s new transit center designed to consolidate the transportation department’s operations and house the county’s growing fleet of more than 60 buses.

The new transportation department complex was created as part of the county’s long-range transit plan and will consolidate department operations, now currently situated in four different locations, to a single location. County officials say combining transit operations, maintenance and administrative functions to a single location will improve the department’s efficiency and provide a significant cost savings over time.
