PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM) project honors its rich history of faith and community, which began during one of Houston's most challenging economic downturns. Founded in 1981 by 12 local churches and 1 synagogue, MAM was born from a shared commitment to serve families in need. Since officially becoming MAM in 1982, it has remained dedicated to fostering family stability and welcoming all who seek support.

In line with this legacy, the new design reflects the spirit of inclusivity and service. The building’s architecture draws inspiration from the Hispanic community, which forms a large part of MAM's clientele, while creating a vibrant, welcoming space for everyone. A new courtyard between the existing and expanded facilities introduces a "campus" environment, perfect for hosting community events and gatherings, reinforcing MAM’s role as a central hub for support.

The project encompasses a 41,923 SF addition and a 49,068 SF renovation, designed to expand retail operations, improve production management, enhance the workplace environment, and elevate the volunteer experience. This transformation ensures that MAM can continue its mission of service in a space that fosters connection, growth, and dignity for all.
